Wade Odegard, 40, of Granite Falls, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Upper Sioux near Granite Falls. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Sioux Multi-Purpose Building. An all-night wake will begin Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM. He was born on June 26, 1985, to Ronald and Sharon (Howell) Odegard at the Granite Falls Hospital. Wade was raised in Granite and attended Yellow Medicine East High School.

Wade was known for his kind heart and friendly nature. He had a fun-loving, comical personality and a distinctive, unfiltered sense of humor that made him unforgettable to those who knew him. His authentic nature and quick wit helped him form many lasting friendships over the years.

He was employed as a Slot Technician at Prairie’s Edge Casino, where he worked for more than 21 years and was a familiar and valued presence. Outside of work, Wade enjoyed working on his vehicles and other mechanical projects, riding his snowmobile in the winter, and spending time on his Harley whenever possible. He participated in local pool and bowling leagues for many years and was also a talented artist. Wade believed music should be played loudly and put on his own annual fireworks display.

Following years of illness and dialysis, Wade received a kidney transplant in 2020. This experience gave him a renewed appreciation for life. He especially cherished the renewed freedom it brought and the time he was able to spend with his children, family, and friends.

Wade was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Odegard; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Irene (Ironheart) Howell; his paternal grandparents, Millard and Mildred (Johnson) Odegard; his cousin, Charles Howell; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his children, Landon and Sofia Odegard of Cottonwood, Minnesota; his mother, Sharon Odegard; his sister, Samantha (Carla) Odegard; his brother, Lance Odegard; his uncle, Herbert (Sue) Howell Sr; and his significant other, Lacey Lobdell, all of Granite Falls, Minnesota. He is also survived by his aunt, Margaret (Don) Korstad of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and many friends.

Wade will be remembered with great affection and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
