A true Soldier of our Lord, Timothy Edward Delf, formerly of Montevideo, MN passed away unexpectedly from a medical event at his home in Eden Prairie, MN on July 25, 2026. Timothy was born in Montevideo on June 26, 1981.
For those who knew Tim, he will long be remembered for his sense of humor, his great BIG personality, his TALL tales, and a smile that lit up the room. From his friends, he was a true friend with friendships going back to 2nd grade in elementary school. From his family, Tim will be remembered for his smile and gentle ways. We called him our Gentle Giant; the perfect nickname for our 6' 7" son.
Family was the most important thing in his life, and he especially loved holidays and family traditions. He also loved family outings, picnics, and tennis with his nieces and nephews.
He attended Montevideo Schools graduating in 2000. He attended UMD in Duluth receiving two master's degrees in electrical engineering and business administration. Then, a lifetime learner and avid reader, he enjoyed books on mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and electrical engineering among many other fields of interest.
The BIBLE was his favorite book having read it several times over his lifetime. He knew scripture well and quoted and shared God's word with many on an everyday basis.
He is survived by his parents, Edward and Pamela Delf of Montevideo. Jonathon and Angela Delf (Kaia, Max and Merrick) of Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Melissa Delf and Sean Schuyler (Jaden, Edward, Jocile and Jaycee) of Harwood, MA. Daniel and Kristin Delf (James, Elaina, Emma and Kadie) of Chaska, MN. Grandma Jocile Olson of Montevideo.
Visitation will be at the Wing Bain Funeral Home on August 20, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 and before the Memorial Service on Friday August 21, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.
A celebration of his life will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo on August 21, 2026, at 11:00 with lunch to follow.
He will long be remembered for his love of Jesus, family and friends.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7–8
