Stanley Eugene Thein died peacefully on February 26, 2026. He lived a full life, having enjoyed 96 years. Stanley was born on June 9, 1929, the son of Peter and Gertrude (Krommen) Thein. He lived most of his life in Clara City, Minnesota. During his college years he was drafted and his military service was with the US Army, 11th Airborne Division. His life’s work was Thein Well Company.
Stanley married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Donner in 1951. Together they had 9 children. They enjoyed 38 years of married life and were blessed with many grandchildren. Their shared Catholic faith was the foundation of their family life. Kathleen passed away in 1989. In 1994, Stanley married Velma Freisleben, also from Clara City. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage, as Velma passed away in 2022.
Stanley was an outdoorsman who enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family, and spending time with them at Lake Florida. He also had a passion for studying family genealogy and old Winchesters. Stanley’s work with Thein Well Company allowed him to travel to many communities throughout Minnesota and neighboring states to provide essential water well services. In retirement, he enjoyed his winters in Florida.
In his later years, Stanley moved to Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar, Minnesota where he enjoyed the fellowship of many new friends. As his health declined, he very much appreciated the care he received. His greatest blessing was time spent with his children, grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
