Shelia Begay

Shelia Begay, 69, of Granite Falls, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Olivia Hospital. Arrangements are pending at this time.

Shelia Begay was born January 1, 1957, the daughter of Raymond Sr. & Emily Good Bird in Stanley, North Dakota. She attended school and grew up in South Dakota.

Shelia was united in marriage to Harold Begay in 1978, in Pierre, South Dakota. She was the Activities Director for many years at the Granite Falls Manor. She was always taking care of her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She loved spending time with the grandchildren and playing games with them.

She is survived by her siblings: Ramona Garreau of Box Elder, South Dakota; Juanita two Hearts of Fargo, North Dakota; Jane (Ramon) LaRoque of Pierre, South Dakota; Janet Church of Newtown, North Dakota and August Toby Good Bird of Pierre, South Dakota; granddaughter Elliana (Sean) Romero and great grandson Cedar Beckler; special niece and nephew Stuart R Traversie Sr and Heather R Traversie; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold and two daughters-in-law: Dinah Begay and Wanda Butler.
