Roger Larson, 85, of Montevideo passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Montevideo VFW Post 380.

Roger Allen Larson was born May 21, 1940 to Myron and Linda (Engelke) Larson in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Roger attended Long School for grades one through eighth in Richfield, WI before graduation from Marshfield Senior High School. He won multiple sports awards in high school and was even the State Wrestling Champion one year.

Roger served in the United States Army, spending some time in Fort Hood, Texas and Mojave Desert, California. He was blessed with his daughter Renee from his first marriage. On June 3, 1989, Roger married the love of his life, Yvonne Larson, in Watertown, SD; he gained a step-daughter, Lana.

Early in his career Roger worked as a truck driver. He then worked for Pluswood Distributers and International Paper in various states before settling in Montevideo. He retired in 2004. In his retirement, Roger enjoyed golfing, fishing and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Roger is survived by his wife, Yvonne; daughter, Renee (Rob) Bettin of Oshkosh, WI; step-daughter, Lana Larson of Delano; grandsons, Devin (Calysta) Krugerud and Cameron (Tealie) Krugerud; great-grandchildren, Braeya and Bodin; siblings, Marlene Blanchard, Leland Larson, Shirley Kolb all of Marshfield, WI, Sharon (Peter) Zimmerman of Tomahawk, WI; many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Linda; sister, Sonja Block; brothers, Lory and David Larson.
