Pamela Berdelle Ulferts was born January 13, 1950, the daughter of Calvin & Harriet (Grussing) Ulferts in Willmar, Minnesota. She grew up on the farm outside of Granite Falls and graduated from Granite Falls High School.
Pam went to Waldorf College in Iowa for one year. She later graduated from SMSU. Pam served her country in the United States Air Force, serving in the Philippines. She was honorably discharged in February 1972. She went to Montana and became the first female mail carrier in that state. She also owned a hardware store, worked as a bookkeeper for a copper mine in Arizona, and was an instructor for a small community college. Pam moved back to Minnesota and worked for the Post Office for many years, until her health became an issue.
She is survived by her siblings: Larry (Barb) Ulferts of Lyman, Nebraska; Rodney (Karen) Ulferts of Woodland Park, Colorado; Valerie (Dave) Skjefte of Granite Falls; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Donna Osman was Pam’s special friend, and they spent many decades together.
Pam spent 2 years living at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Montevideo. She spoke very highly of everyone that took care of her, the food, volunteers who spent time with her, activities and outings, and everyday life enrichment. Thank you.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Todd, and special friend Donna.
