Michael Terwey

Michael John Terwey, age 64, of Wood Lake, MN, passed away of natural causes at his home on July 9, 2026.

Mike was born on March 23, 1962, in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Louis and Rosella (Kron) Terwey. He grew up in St. Joseph MN where he was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, attended St. Joseph Lab School and graduated from St. Cloud Apollo High School in 1980. After graduation Mike was employed by Fingerhut for over 20 years as a forklift driver. Following the closure of Fingerhut Mike earned his CDL and worked for Amcon Block and Precast, Meyers Trucking and Cold Storage until his retirement.

Mike and Ella (Kowalzek) were married on September 13, 2006,in Las Vegas, NV. After their marriage they were long-timeresidents of Sauk Rapids MN. Upon Mike’s retirement they moved to Wood Lake. He enjoyed cribbage, card playing, cooking, camping, fishing, spending time with family and sitting on the deck having coffee with Ella. Mike will be remembered for his kind heart, relaxed spirit, and the many cherished memories he created with those he loved.

Mike is survived by his wife Ella, daughters Elizabeth (Mathew) Campbell, Rachel (Patrick) Larson and Sarah (Danny) Terwey-Victor, stepchildren Sheila (Cory) Bokelman and Harlan (Tonya) Kowalzek, grandchildren Grace and Mathew Jr. Campbell, Aiden and Megan Larson, step-grandchildren Jordan (Dakota), Merritt and Blake Merriman, Jacob and Brandon Bokelman, Wyatt and Owen Kowalzek, brothers and sisters Greg (Sandy) Terwey, Larry Terwey, Sharon Terwey, Sandra (Gary) Hansen and Lynn Terwey, sister-in-law Anne Terwey and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Mike was proceeded in death by his grandson Vincent Campbell, brothers Robert Terwey and Charles Terwey, sister Jean Mattson Weller.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Lions Park in St. Joseph MN.
