Matthew "Matt" Scott Tesch was born July 25th, 1980, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Orland and Pam Tesch (Schewe). He was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Marshall and attended school in both Marshall and Montevideo.
Matt peacefully passed in his sleep on April 13th, 2026, after a long battle with respiratory issues and complications from COPD.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his easy-going nature, and the joy he brought to those around him. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dog, Houston. He found happiness in the simple things. Matt enjoyed time spent with his children Chyanne and Micheal, his family, and friends. He enjoyed sharing laughter, playing games, like 10,000 or Cribbage, and always enjoying life to the fullest.
Matt worked several jobs in Montevideo, but most recently at Dollar Tree and Casey’s. He enjoyed connecting with customers and coworkers. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcomed, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Matt is survived by his children Chyanne Tesch of Clarkfield and Micheal Timm of Tracy, one granddaughter Freya Swanson, his maternal grandma Donna Schewe of Granite Falls, his mom Pam (Jon Anderson) Schewe, his sisters Rochelle (Jay) Timm of Garvin, Kayla Anderson of Montevideo and Tawnya Anderson of Montevideo, his niece Taitum Timm, nephews Tyler and Taylor Timm, two great nephews, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his special friends including Lacey Eastman, Mary Lund, and The Gackstetters.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa Vern Schewe, both paternal grandparents Norman and Alice Tesch, his dad Orland Tesch, his aunts Connie Towne and Kimmarrie Johnson, and his cousin John Beckley.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Wing Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls at 4pm.
Visitation will start one hour prior at 3pm.
His memory will live on through the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the happiness he shared.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
