Margaret Ann St. John was born October 14th, 1935 in Big Stone City, South Dakota to Ora M. Hubel (Gorman) and William A. Hubel she passed on to Glory in Martinez, California with her family by her side. Margaret is survived by her children and spouses: Marshall and Tracy St. John of Oakley CA, Yvonne and Rich St. John Dutra of Martinez, CA, Kimberly and James Kelm of Duluth, MN, and Rochelle and John Paul Ruiz of Redding, CA. Margaret was proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, Marshall (Mike) St. John.
Margaret was the second of three daughters born to Ora and William. She had fond memories of living in Minnesota with her sisters Betty and Sally. She met Mike and they were married in The Dalles, Oregon on July 5, 1958. They moved to California where they raised their 4 children in Brentwood, California. Margaret was an office manager in Brentwood and Antioch, California.
In 1991, Margaret and Mike retired and moved to Outing, Minnesota to enjoy lake living. They enjoyed boating, and fishing and were very active in their church. Margaret enjoyed knitting and crocheting, dancing and singing but her passion was FAMILY. She deeply loved her 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She so lovingly cared for Mike during his 11 years of illness until he passed in 2013.
In 2014, Margaret moved back to California near family. Although she was dealing with Alzheimer’s, her last years of her life were some of the most joyful. She lost all inhibitions and returned to the innocence of a child. She danced, sang, laughed, and loved freely. Margaret lived fully - expressing her appreciation more openly and loving all those around her.
Deeply loved by family and friends she will be greatly missed.
