Laura Nelson, age 66, of Granite Falls passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in St. Cloud. Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Laura was born on July 21, 1957 in Minneapolis to LeRoy and Lorraine (Sherman) Lindahl. She graduated from Edison High School in 1975. She married the love of her life, Vernon Nelson, on September 29, 1979 in Minneapolis. They lived in Granite Falls where they raised three children. Laura was employed in retail for many years.
Laura loved spending time with family, travelling to rodeos and trail riding. She also loved cheering her grandchildren on in their sports. She and Vern enjoyed many years of travelling from state to state visiting their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Vern; children, Justin and his beloved dogs, Lulu and Willy of Utah; Dustin (Stacy) of Clear Lake; Ada (Cody) Dowell of New Mexico; grandchildren, Tristian, Laurel, Coy and Wyatt Nelson; Kacie, Katie and Gracie Dowell; great granddaughter, Piper Nelson; mother-in-law, Carol Nelson; and brothers and sisters- in- law, Mike & Kathy Brunner, Robert & Janice Janorschke, Orvin & Lavonne Torke, LeRoy & Ginger Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; granddaughter, Jessie Jean Dowell; father-in-law, Donald Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
