Kathryn Roberts, age 65, of Maynard, Minnesota passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Maynard Event Center.
Kathryn Jean Roberts was born December 27, 1958 to Wallace and Lois (Jacobson) Knoben in Marshall, Minnesota. She graduated from Marshall High School and attended Southwest Minnesota State College in Marshall. Kathryn lived in various places throughout the years including Dallas, Texas, Miltona, Minnesota and the metro area. Kathryn found her home in Maynard where she loved the community and its people.
Kathryn enjoyed bartending at Moldy’s for many years and has worked as a CNA at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center for the last 15 years; Kathryn loved her Avera family. She served on the city council for Maynard and was a member of the Lions Club.
Kathryn was a fun and loving mom and grandma. She loved spoiling her grandkids any chance she could, especially by taking them to Hardee’s when they came to visit. Kathryn enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and garage sales, taking trips to the casino, Star Wars and sipping on an ice cold Coke. She was an animal lover and always cared for her dog and cats. She also loved live music; her favorites were Prince and the bands Snow Patrol and Megadeth. Kathryn was known for her thick Minnesota accent and cheering on the Packers.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Natalie Hanson of Ellsworth, WI, Michelle (special friend, Neil Thomes) Roberts of Cold Spring, and Joe Roberts of Mankato; grandchildren, Layla and Gamble Garner, Chloe Thomes; sister, Patsy Knoben of Marshall; as well as other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Lois Knoben.
