Jeffery Allen Giese was born July 21, 1969 in Graceville, Minnesota, the son of Daniel Giese and Bonita McCartney. He was baptized as an infant on August 3, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta, Minnesota. Later, Jeff was confirmed on April 29, 1984 at St. John Lutheran Church in Holloway, Minnesota. He grew up in Holloway and when he was a teenager, they moved to Granite Falls where he graduated in 1987.

After graduation, Jeff attended Southwestern Technical College in Canby for auto mechanics. He then began working various places with the first being at the 95th Club in Granite Falls. He was an owner operator of his truck until the early 90s. He then held employment at Prairies Edge Casino, the corn plant, Turbo Taxi and he may have been the most talkative employee at Casey’s in Montevideo for several years. Jeff returned to his love of the open road and started trucking again and was currently employed at Jaenisch Trucking in Granite Falls. He was also a certified pilot car escort.

Jeff married Julie Parker on October 24, 1992 and together they were blessed with two children, Katie and Parker. Their lives went separate ways and Jeff met Michelle Johnson whom he married on November 1, 2002 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Together they were blessed with their son, David. On September 27, 2010, Jeff and Michelle renewed their vows and truly embraced blending their families with Jeff’s bonus children, KaiteLynn, Jessy and Andrew.

Jeff served on the Watson Fire Department for over 15 years and was an EMT for the Montevideo Ambulance and Hospital. He loved riding his Harley and recently began enjoying trail riding on side by sides. Jeff enjoyed hunting, camping and the idea of fixing things. His strength was taking items apart and then saving them to assemble later. Jeff was a great dad and grandfather who was lovingly called ‘Jeffaffa’ by his nieces and friends. He had a gift to gab, goofy sense of humor, compassion to those he loved mixed with a healthy dose of sarcasm and stubborn.
