Ida Bendix, age 94, of Montevideo, MN, and formerly of Granite Falls passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Granite Falls.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10:30-11:30 AM, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ida Bendix, age 94, passed away Friday, September 6, 2019, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Minnesota. Ida was born October 28, 1924, the daughter of Noah and Ida (Bohlman) Pochardt on the family farm near Russell, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 27, 1924 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russell and later confirmed in her faith on May 7, 1939 at First English Lutheran Church in Tyler.
Ida was united in marriage to Harvey Bendix on December 12, 1948, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall. They lived and farmed near Echo, Minnesota for several years. In 1958, they moved the family to Boyd, Minnesota where they farmed until Ida and Harvey retired in 1984. From there, they relocated to Granite Falls, Minnesota. Their final move was to a new townhome in Montevideo, Minnesota in February of 2006.
Ida loved Christmas and little children. She was always on the move and enjoyed caring for others. She loved being with family and friends.
Ida is survived by her children, Beverly (Marshall) Herfindahl of Boyd, MN, Connie (Daniel) Schmid of Stillwater, Larry (Susan) Bendix of Boyd; grandchildren, Eston Herfindahl, Arie Herfindahl, Angela Schmid, Tamsen Schmid Barrett, John Bendix, Lindsey Bendix; great grandchildren, Morgan Herfindahl, Aurora “Rory” Barrett, Zanon Barrett; as well as nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ida Pochardt; husband, Harvey; brothers, Albert “Ole” Pochardt, Carl Pochardt, Art Pochardt; sister, Sarah Pyle.
