ElDora Pederson

ElDora Pederson, age 97, of Granite Falls, Minnesota passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Luther Haven in Montevideo. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls. Interment will follow at Granite Falls City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. 

ElDora Ann Pederson was born June 15, 1927, to Lawrence and Minnie (Miller) Nelson of Skandia Township, Balaton, Minnesota. She was baptized on July 24, 1927, and confirmed on March 15,1942 at Sillerud Lutheran Church, Skandia Township, Balaton, Minnesota.

ElDora married Omer Pederson on March 22, 1945 in Balaton. ElDora was a proud farmer’s wife, housemaker, and veteran spouse. She was a life member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. After Omer returned from World War II, they farmed together in the Eagle Bend area until they retired and moved to Granite Falls. ElDora and Omer were members of Granite Falls Lutheran Church. On July 25, 2000, they lost their home and almost all their personal possessions in the Granite Falls tornado. After that they moved into River View apartments in Granite Falls and became close friends of the other residents often playing cards, games, and attending Bible study. Omer passed away in 2004 and ElDora stayed at River View until 2018 when she moved to Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo where she lived until she passed gently away with nieces and nephews surrounding her on January 31 at the age of 97 years, 7 months, and 17 days.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Omer, her parents, her brother and his wife (Raymond and Fern Nelson), her sister and her husband (Louise and Art Moe), her nephew Larry Moe, her great-nephew Jeremy Hoiland, and many other family and friends acquired over a long life.
