Elden Nordang Profile Photo

Elden Roy Nordang was born on December 21st, 1947, in Granite Falls, MN, to Ole and Helen (Tweeter) Nordang. He was the first born child and, therefore, was the extreme ruler over his two younger sisters. Eldy passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 9, 2025, at the age of 77. Services to be held at a later date.
He grew up with his band of friends roaming the hills and valleys around Hungry Hollow Creek in “East side” Granite Falls. He always had a love of cars and hot rods. When he was 15, he bought an old stock car and built it into what would become his signature vehicle—a 1939 Ford Coupe which he still has. He put many miles on that car, even driving it to California and back once.
Elden graduated from the Granite Falls High School. He was drafted into the Army, served in the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged. Years later, he attended college in Bemidji, MN earning an Automotive Machinist certification. Following his love of cars and motors, he set up a shop in Granite Falls and turned everyday engines into high performance motors helping out more than a few racers. He also worked full-time in the Maintenance Department at the Sugar Beet Plant in Renville, MN, retiring in 2010 after 30 years of employment.
Elden is survived by his son, Jon (Kate) Nordang of Hastings, MN; his daughter, Leah (Toby) Biegel of Eau Claire, WI; two grandsons Damon and Tyler; Sisters Linda Flickinger of Montevideo, MN, and Mary E Hildahl of Granite Falls, MN; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ole and Helen Nordang; Brothers-in-law Howard Flickinger and Marlin Hildahl.
Rest in Peace, Eldy—you’ve earned it.
