Duaine Merle Kimpling was born on September 14, 1940, in Crate Township to Merle Philip and Anna Josephine (Specht) Kimpling. He grew up on the family farm just outside of Gluek, MN and attended school in Maynard, MN graduating with the class of 1958. He then served in the Minnesota National Guard.
Duaine was a devoted husband and son, loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend. His family and friends enjoyed his witty sense of humor as well as his penchant for working hard and playing hard! He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and golfing. Playing cards was a vocation for the entire Kimpling family, complete with all of their well-known one liners!
Duaine’s family and friends gathered to support his beautiful bride and daughters as they cared for him at home in his final days. There were many memories shared with abundant laughter and tears. Surrounded by his family, Duaine went to be with Jesus on Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at 5:43pm. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Avera Hospice and the Clara City Care Center.
Duaine was preceded in death by his parents Merle and Anna Kimpling; brothers, brother and sisters-in-law - Leslie & Janice Kimpling, Ronald & Linda Kimpling, Gerald Kimpling, Dalen Grussing; and his cherished grandson Samuel Fitzgerald. We celebrate their reunion in the Kingdom of God.
