Douglas Stark, 77, of Montevideo, passed away on Tuesday, November 30th at his residence. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 2 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Douglas Grant Stark was born May 20, 1944, in Chippewa County, the son of Grant and LaVerna (Graue) Stark. He was baptized at Rosewood Methodist Church. Doug graduated from the Montevideo High School in 1962.
Doug served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on the buddy system with Ann’s brother Albert Smith. He was honorably discharged in 1964. He was united in marriage to Ann Smith on June 26, 1965. They celebrated 56 years of a wonderful marriage. They had three loving sons: Charles, Darren and Ryan.
Doug was a devoted husband father and grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Doug worked at the Wegdahl Coop Elevator from 1968 through August of 1996. He then started at Cenex and worked until his retirement in 2015. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop. There wasn’t anything Doug could not fix if he put his mind to it, which he instilled in his sons.
Doug passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his home. He was 77 years of age.
Doug is survived by his wife Ann; sons: Charles (Kathy), Darren (Sheila) all of Montevideo and Ryan of Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren: Ashley (Josh) Henderson, Grant Stark, Tara (JR) Bachmeier, Cory (Elizabeth) Wangberg; six great grandchildren; sister Carol Berends and brother-in-law John Docken; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Marilyn, Rose and Patricia, half brother James, half sister Charlotte, in-laws E. Ellmore and Audrey Smith, sister-in-law Avis Freeman, brothers-in-law Albert, Alvin and Arnold Smith.
