Dennis Lee Anspach was born in Granite Falls, MN February 22, 1952, to parents Virdean Anspach and Gloria (Minsaas) Anspach. He was baptized and confirmed at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Dennis entered the U.S Army in 1969, where he served in combat in the Vietnam War. Was discharged as a wounded warrior, receiving the Purple Heart honor among other medals, in 1971. After being discharged, Dennis met the love of his life, Clarice Bode. They were united in marriage on Sept.1, 1972, at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. To this union, three children were born, Stacey Anspach, Nicholas Anspach and Deanna Anspach.
In life, Dennis enjoyed fishing, listening to rock and roll music and playing KENO at the local casino. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of his family. He had many jobs throughout his life, including, working for the block and tile plant, hauling cars across country, Bogan's Construction and Flynn's Salvage. His favorite hobbies included salvaging scrap iron and was known as the local "junk man". He was a member of the American Legion and marched in local parades in support of the veterans.
Death came to Dennis on March 3, 2018, at the Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, after a long battle with complications from diabetes and heart failure. He had reached the age of 66 years and 9 days. He is survived by his wife, Clarice; children: Stacey Anspach, Dawson, MN, Nicholas Anspach, Bellingham, MN, Deanna Anspach, Madison, MN; grandchildren: Brady, Mariah, Christina, Dylan, Tyson, Myah and Brooklyn; great grandchild, Chance; brothers: Mark Anspach, Mike Anspach: sisters: Vicky Dolezal and Becky Sather; half-brothers: Chad Anspach and Jason Anspach; many cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved pit bull, Trina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virdeen Anspach and Gloria Anspach, Grandma Lucy Steinbach, brothers, Gary Anspach and Tony Anspach a sister in infancy, Elizabeth and brother in infancy, Virdeen Jr. Blessed be his memory.
