Darvin Andert

Darvin Andert, 73, of Granite Falls passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with his children by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 4, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Granite Run Golf Course. Please wear your MN Vikings, Twins, Gophers or YME Sting apparel to help celebrate him.

Darvin Don Andert was born in Fairfax, MN on February 18, 1953, the son of Jake and Rose (Drusch) Andert. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1971. Darvin was united in marriage to Paula Fahey in 1976. Soon thereafter they moved to Granite Falls where he lived for the rest of his life.

Darvin began working at the Granite Falls High School where he remained for 33 years until he retired in 2009. He held various jobs over those years, including custodian and groundskeeper, which included taking care of the football field, which he so loved doing. He was a member of the local Lions Club. Darvin enjoyed watching his sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, the Minnesota Gophers and high school football and basketball and cheered for the local YME team for many years. He was a lifelong fisherman and enjoyed fishing with all of his children. After retirement he took up golf, which he enjoyed for several years. He also enjoyed putting together puzzles and doing crossword puzzles.

Darvin is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Barry) Evenstad of Granite Falls; Jennifer (Josh) Nelson of Anoka; and son Daniel Andert of Granite Falls; granddaughter Megan Nelson; brother, Kurt Andert of Olivia; sister-in-law Kathy DeLonais; nieces and a nephew and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Rose Andert, brother, Virg Drusch and sister, Eunice Haas.
