Charlotte was born to William Albert Korn and Mabel Gustava Pedersen Korn on February 15, 1933, in Crate Township, Chippewa County. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran. She graduated from Clara City High School in 1951 and the University of Minnesota in 1955. Charlotte began her home economics teaching career at Benson High School and retired from Richfield Middle School.

A lifetime University of Minnesota Alumni Association member, Charlotte especially enjoyed relationships forged through the Gamma Omicron Beta (GOB) sorority. After graduation, she continued to remain active with the GOB Foundation. A dedicated Gopher fan, Charlotte was a longtime football season ticket holder.

Charlotte delighted in attending Minnesota Orchestra performances. The choral group Vocal Essence was a favorite. She was a longtime member of the Minnesota Historical Society and the Women’s Organization of the Minnesota Historical Society. She was a Minnesota Governor’s Mansion docent. Charlotte served in leadership roles that included Trail East Board of Directors chair, GOB Foundation board member, and Minnesota Valley Federated Woman’s Club president. She was a member of Minnesota Public Radio, the American Sewing Guild, the Minnesota Zoo, Twin Cities Public Television, the Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Science, and the Richfield Retired Educators Association. Charlotte enjoyed book clubs and community interest groups. In addition to the Gophers, she faithfully watched the Vikings and Twins, and was especially good at critiquing each game, especially if they lost.

During her lifetime, Charlotte traveled to Asia, Australia, and Europe. A special travel experience was escorting great nephew Josh and great niece Brandy to visit the Heiling Family and McCarthy Family exchange students in The Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, and Germany.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Korn, sister-in-law Dorothy Korn, great nephew Brock McCarthy, and great-great nephew Brady Heiling.
