Arlen Carl, age 66, of Montevideo passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Rock Haven Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Arlen Lewis Carl was born on December 22, 1956, in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of Lewis and Leona (Haines) Carl. He grew up near Correll and Appleton, attending school in Appleton, Minnesota. Arlen was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Appleton.
Arlen began helping on the farm and had odd jobs here and there until he found his niche in life. He began driving truck and it wasn’t long before his love for the open road became his livelihood and identity. Arlen was married to Lorie Hoseck for a time and they were blessed with two sons, Ryan and Matthew.
Arlen has called Watson, Minnesota home since 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his Honda Goldwing. Arlen loved drinking coffee, wearing cowboy boots and talking to his favorite people, his family. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone not expecting a thing in return. Not only was Arlen always there for those he loved, he was present and in the moment.
Arlen is survived by his sons, Ryan Carl of Appleton, Matt (Katelyne) Carl of Montevideo; grandchildren, Grecia Carl, Brantley Baker, Elena Carl, Norah Carl, Emery Carl; siblings, Charlie Carl, Lester (Kathy) Carl, Vicki (Claude) Sherod, Kay Matter; brother-in-law, Brad Suckow; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Leona; siblings, Kathy Perseke, Dale Carl, Jean Suckow.
