Amber Johnson

Amber Jean Johnson, age 40, of Clara City, Minnesota passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 after battling cancer since 2017. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, January 19, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM with a Time of Sharing and Prayer at 4:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Amber was born in Willmar, Minnesota, on May 12, 1985, to her parents, Dale and Carol (Shannon) Jaenisch. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City, MN. Amber attended MACCRAY school where she played tennis, and acted in several school theatre productions. She graduated in 2003 and went on to earn an administration degree from Ridgewater College in 2005. Throughout her life, she was active in Girl Scouts and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

While in high school, Amber met Eric Johnson, the love of her life. The two were married on June 24, 2005, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar, Minnesota. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed their daughter, Henley, in 2008, and their son, Aven, in 2011.

Amber held various jobs throughout her life, including working at Jimmy's Pizza during her school years, Paffrath's Jewelers, and most recently at Citizens Alliance Bank in Clara City. No matter the job, she brought kindness, dedication, and a warm smile.

Family was at the center of Amber's world. She was a devoted mother who cherished every moment with her children. She loved the outdoors, enjoying activities such as camping, fishing, skiing, and all water sports. She developed an appreciation for antiques and was always willing to try new things. Watching the show FRIENDS was one of her favorite pastimes. Her beloved "fur babies" also held a special place in her heart.

Amber is survived by her husband, Eric Johnson; her children, Henley and Aven; her parents, Dale and Carol Jaenisch; her brother, Bryan (Melissa) Jaenisch; her father and mother-in-law, Dale and Denise Johnson, all residing in Clara City. She is also survived by her "sister by heart," Jenna (Lance) Brouwer; sister-in-law, Janelle Dahlgren; brother-in-law, Keith (Teresa) Johnson; nieces and nephews, Peyton and Logan Jaenisch, Greta and Luke Johnson, Anya, Ilsa, and Inga Dahlgren; her godson, Finn Brouwer; her goddaughters, Mia and Keana Goldenstein; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Amber was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Roger and Dorothy Jaenisch; her maternal grandparents, Glenn and JoAnne Shannon; and her cousin, Brady Heiling.

Amber's life was defined by love, generosity, and a spirit that embraced adventure. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
