Alfred Timm

Alfred Timm, 102, of Granite Falls, Minnesota passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at RenVilla Health Services in Renville, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM also at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Alfred Walter Timm was born June 10, 1924, the son of Harry and Marie (Brauer) Timm in Wood Lake, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Alfred attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Wood Lake High School. While in school, Alfred enjoyed playing football and was in band. He entered the U.S Army during World War II and was honorably discharged.

Alfred was united in marriage to Mavis Ione Jeseritz on December 15, 1946, also at St, John’s Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on a farm near Wood Lake until moving to a farm in rural Granite Falls. Alfred was a dairy farmer who enjoyed raising livestock and watching nature. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. Alfred also enjoyed helping at church and served as an usher, singing in the choir and taped the church services for the shut ins and then would deliver those recordings. He also served on the school board.

On July 3rd, 2026, Alfred was a patient at Renville Care Center and was received into the Lord’s heavenly kingdom.

Alfred is survived by children, Thomas Timm of Granite Falls, Jean (Rolland) Peirce of Marshall, Craig (Sue) Timm, Lee Timm all of Granite Falls; daughter-in-law, Daphne Timm of Granite Falls; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; sister, Anita Rigge of Granite Falls; as well as extended family and friends.

Alfred is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mavis; son, Curt.
