Adair was born on May 7, 1936, the daughter of Adolph and Hildur M.C. (Haldosen) Ronning in Minneapolis, MN. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN and continued her education in Tempe, AZ where she graduated from Arizona State University.

She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Thomas Kelley on April 23, 1971 in Phoenix, AZ. To this union two daughters were born: Helene and Tracie. Adair and Dick were not only partners in love but also in business. They worked together investing in and renovating properties in both AZ and MN. They lived in Phoenix until 1990 when they moved their homestead to the family farm outside of Montevideo. During part of their time in MN, they were the owner operators of Rustic Timbers Lodge near Lac Qui Parle Lake in Dawson, MN. There they enjoyed opening their doors to guests and watching the wildlife.

Adair loved being a Grandma and telling stories to everyone. She was a true patriot, not missing the opportunity to raise the flag and thank our military. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, singing, dancing, painting, and music throughout her life. She was a pianist and organist at her church as a young adult and played in the Bell Choir at Montevideo’s United Methodist church. She loved supporting both her daughters’ activities including music and theater events throughout their school years and life events through their adult years. She had a love of antiques, especially those of her Scandinavian heritage and family’s contributions to agriculture and military inventions. She was heavily involved in capturing and documenting the story of her father. She shared Adolph Ronning’s numerous inventions at farm shows, historic landmarks, libraries, events such as the MN150, and numerous articles in a breadth of publications.

Adair is survived by her daughters: Helene Kelley (Jon Lord) of Montevideo, MN, and Tracie (Kenneth) Konietzko of Springfield, Virginia: two grandchildren: Keeghan and Reilly Konietzko; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hildur (1965), Adolph (1982), sister Ruth (1984) and her husband Dick (2003).
