She was born on Dec. 13th, 1924 in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, Mn. Loretta married her first husband, Clarence Just on Jan. 16th, 1946. They had 35 wonderful years of marriage before he passed away on March 31st, 1981. On August 6th, 1988 she married Richard Tjosaas and was blessed with another 32 years of marriage. Some of her hobbies included – being a founding member of the homemakers group for over 50 years, gardening, canning, camping, dancing, puzzling, traveling, sewing, crafting, playing cards & table games. She was very active in various volunteer work around Granite Falls such as; serving over 30 years with Red Cross supporting the bloodmobile, provided Meals on Wheels, assisted with Prairie Five driving around Mn and very active with the Ice Cream Social at St. Paul Lutheran Church making her famous potato salad that we all rave for. She was a member of the Granite Falls Auxiliary and was a proud participant in Ole & Lena Days for several years. She also found enjoyment while employed at Ben Franklin Department Store in Granite Falls. She has passed on her infectious laughter, her love for baking, the treasured beauty mark, gorgeous curly hair, luscious nails, her deep dimple, and green thumb. She certainly had a gift for giving! Family members who inherited these traits will always cherish them!! There is never a time we can say we don’t need our mothers, even after they are gone, and the time we have with them is never enough. Our years ahead will be filled with laughter and tears as we remember and miss sharing a beer with her, watching a ball game, traveling together, reliving a story, accompanying her to church, family gatherings, watching Lawrence Welk, weekends at the lake, sitting on the floor with the grandkids playing, and simply every moment we were privileged to share with her. We will miss her, in all the ways that live in the hearts of SO many that were touched by her life. Preceded in death by her first loving husband Clarence Walter William Stephan Just. Her parents Ann Mathilda & Conrad Jacob Hess; and her brother Alvin Hess.
